How to Open/View MBOX Files in Regzion MBOX Viewer Software? (Free Edition)

Step 1 ) Download Regzion MBOX Viewer software and install it on your Windows O/S based PC.

Step 2 ) Run the software, and press the "Add File / Folder" button (From top menubar).

Step 3 ) Choose a method to add MBOX file from available 3 options: -

  • Select MBOX File: - Add one MBOX file from a specific folder of your computer.
  • Select MBOX Folder: - Choose a folder add all MBOX files from it. (Also, includes sub-folders).
  • Auto Load Thunderbird Profie: - In one click load all Thunderbird profile mail folders. (Only works if you have Thudnerbird application in your machine)

Add MBOX files with your desired file-adding method and click on Next to load MBOX files.

Step 4 ) Load mail folders and emails from MBOX files and one by one view each email items MBOX file in preview panel.

Step 5 ) Choose the MBOX folders for email export process, and click the Save button.

Step 6 ) Choose a "Conversion Option" from the available list: -

  • Separate PST File for each mailbox: - Save each MBOX file's mail folder in separate PST file.

  • MSG: - Save each email to as separate MSG file for using in MS Outlook.
  • EMLX: - Preserve each MBOX email to EMLX file of Apple Mail (MAC OS based devices).
  • NSF: - Move mail folders from different MBOX files to single NSF file (For importing emails in Lotus/ IBM/ HCL Notes).
  • HTML: - Save each MBOX file's email in HTML file. Easily access email with web browsers offline.
  • MHT: - Save emails of MBOX file in MHT (MHTML) format, preserving email with content, images, attachments, and other elements in a single file. Easily accessible with web browsers.
  • CSV: - Save MBOX file's email data in tabular form in comma separated values (CSV file).
  • Zimbra: - Transfer MBOX mail folders to TGZ files for importing emails in Zimbra Desktop.
  • Thunderbird: - Directly transfer mail folders from MBOX files to Thunderbird configured email profiles.
  • PDF: - Extract emails from MBOX files and save each email as separate PDF (Portable Document Format).

Step 7 ) Apply needed settings before conversion: -

  • Filter Email: - Choose the date range of emails those you want to export from MBOX specifically.
  • Naming Convention: - Choose a naming format from 9 different naming patterns. (Based on email Subject, Date, and From)
  • Saving Location: - Specify a place from your computer for storing resultant files while conversion.

How to Extract MBOX Email Attachment / Phone Numbers & Email Address (Pro)

Step 6 ) Choose MBOX mail folders, click on Extract and choose a extraction option from drop-down list: -

  • Extract Phone Numbers: - For collecting phone numbers from MBOX file's emails.
  • Extract Email Addresses: - Get email addresses from header fields of MBOX file's emails.
  • Extract Attachments: - Extracting attachments from MBOX email and saving as separate files.

Step 8 )

Choose the option
"Extract Phone Number(s)" from drop down list

Next, apply the phone number extraction settings: -

  • Extract Phone Numbers in: - Choose the file format in which you want to preserve extracted phone numbers (available options- TXT, PDF, or CSV).
  • Saving Location: - Select a path from your drive to save resulting file (holding phone numbers).
  • Ignore Duplicate Phone Numbers: - Select this option to retrict copying same phone numbers.
  • Extract Phone Numbers from all Fields: - Extract phone numbers from both Subject and Body part of MBOX emails.
  • Extract Phone Numbers from specific field: - Extract phone number from only the subject or from only message body of MBOX emails.
  • Mail Filtering: - Choose the date range of email from those you want to extract phone numbers specifically.

Step 9 ) Finally, click on Convert and start the process to extract phone numbers from MBOX emails and save in TXT, PDF, or CSV file type.

Extract Email Addresses from MBOX Files

Step 8 )

Click on Extract Email Address(s) from the list of extraction options.

    Apply the settings of Email Address Extraction: -

  • Saving Location: - Select a folder from your computer to save the file containined email addresses.
  • Saving Options: - choose a file format from TXT, HTML, PDF, or CSV. (In chosen file type the software will save extracted email addresses).
  • Email Filter Criteria: - Choose the email address fields from which you want to extract email addresses- TO, From, CC, BCC, or ALL.
  • Mail Filter: - Specify a date range of emails by selecting start and end date. (Make selection of email dates and extract email addresses from emails of chosen dates only).

Step 9 ) Press Convert button and extract email addresses from MBOX file's emails and save to TXT, HTML, PDF, or CSV file.

Extract Attachments from MBOX Files

Step 8 )

Press Extract Attachment(s) button from the dropdown list of Extraction options.

  • Settings for Email Attachment Extraction
    • Extract Attachment Folder-Wise: - Extracts attachments into folders based on MBOX file name.
    • Extract Attachment Message-Wise: Extracts attachments into folders based on email subject.
    • Predefined File Extension: - Choose a file extension of attachment from available list.
    • Custom File Extension: input the extension of attachment manually.
  • Filter Email: - Select this option and select a date range of emails for extracting attachments from them particularly.
  • Saving Location: - Choose a location from your computer to save resulting/extracted attachments.

Step 9 ) Click on Convert to extract attachments from MBOX emails.

How to Migrate MBOX to Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Office365, or IMAP Account (Pro+)

Step 6 )Choose MBOX mail folders, click on Import into Cloud and choose a cloud migration option.

Step 8 )

Cick on Import to Office 365 and apply migration settings for Office365.

  • Enter Office365 Account's email address.
    • Input Folder name for migration : - Add a folder for creating it to office365 account for storing imported MBOX emails.
    • Email Filter: - Choose a date range to export email by their date selectively.

Step 9 ) Click on Convert, sign with Office365 account and begin the MBOX email to Office365 migration.

Import MBOX Emails to Gmail/ G-Suite (Google Workspace)

Step 8 )

Click the button Import to Gmail and apply settings for MBOX to Gmail Migration.

Enter Gmail Account's Email Address, App Password, and hit the Authenticate Login button.

  • After sign in process, apply other Import settings: -
  • Mail Filter: - Select a date for exporting email of only need dates.

Import MBOX Emails to Yahoo Mail Account

Step 8 )

Click on Import to Cloud >> Import to Yahoo Import and follow next steps: -

Add Yahoo Mail Email Address, Third-Party App Password and press the Authenticate Login button for login with Yahoo Mail account.

    Other settings for migration: -
  • Create New Folder: - Add a new folder to Yahoo Mail account to store the imported MBOX file emails. (Add folder with custom name)
  • Mail Filter: - Date based email filtering for extract emails from MBOX file on only the selected dates.

Step 9 ) Press Import to Yahoo Account button and migrate MBOX emails to Yahoo Mail account.

Import MBOX Emails to IMAP Account Server

Step 8 )

Select MBOX mail folders, click on Import into Cloud, and from drop down list select Import to IMAP Server.

In the next screen, add IMAP account login details - Email Address, Password, Port, and Host Name.

    Settings for MBOX email to IMAP migration: -

  • Export option: -
    • Input Folder Name for Migration: - Add a folder in IMAP account with a custom name for adding/saving MBOX emails.
  • Mail Filter: - Use date based email filtering function to extract emails of only selected date range.
