How to Configure "Tutanota" for Third-Party Applications


Tutanota is designed for maximum security and does not support standard IMAP/SMTP connections. However, paid Tutanota users can use the Tutanota Bridge to access their email via third-party applications like Regzion. Apply the steps shown below for easy login: -

Step 1: Get a Paid Tutanota Plan

1 ) Visit Tutanota Pricing and choose a Premium or higher plan.

2 ) Create your account or upgrade an existing free account.

3 ) Once upgraded, log into the Tutanota Web App and go to Settings > Email Clients (Bridge).

Step 2: Install & Run Tutanota Bridge

1 ) From your Tutanota settings, download the Bridge for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux).

2 ) Install and launch the Bridge application.

3 ) Log in to the Bridge with your Tutanota email and password.

4 ) The Bridge will display IMAP/SMTP connection details for local use (e.g., IMAP at 127.0.0.1:1143, SMTP at 127.0.0.1:1025).

Step 3: Configure Regzion with Tutanota Bridge

Use the following settings in Regzion or any third-party IMAP/SMTP tool:

  • IMAP Server: 127.0.0.1
  • IMAP Port: 1143
  • SMTP Server: 127.0.0.1
  • SMTP Port: 1025
  • Encryption: None (local connection)
  • Username: Your full Tutanota email
  • Password: App password from Bridge

Important: Keep the Tutanota Bridge running while using Regzion.
