How to Configure "StartMail" for Third-Party Apps?


Follow this guide to securely connect your StartMail account with Regzion or any IMAP-compatible application using device-specific login credentials.

Step 1: Open StartMail Settings

1) Visit startmail.com and sign into your account.

2) Click the Settings located at the top-right menu of the page.

3) Then, in the left sidebar, choose Trusted Devices / IMAP.

4) From next screen for IMAP Access, toggle the switch To access StartMail from other email client using IMAP.

Step 2: Create a Device-Specific IMAP Password

1) In the Trusted Devices section, click on Add Device.

2) Provide a custom name for the device (e.g., "Regzion" or "Work Laptop").

3) Confirm your account password to proceed.

4) StartMail will generate an IMAP login and one-time password (app specific password).

5) Save this password immediately. It will only be displayed once for security reasons.

Step 3: Log in to StartMail from Regzion Software

Once you have your device-specific IMAP credentials, follow these steps to connect StartMail to the Regzion software:

1) Open Regzion Software or other app in which you want to login Start Mail account, on your computer.

2) Enter the following StartMail login details:

  • IMAP Server: imap.startmail.com
  • Port: 993
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS
  • Email: Your StartMail address (e.g., user@startmail.com)
  • Password: The IMAP device password you saved earlier

3) Login and test the connection.

3) Once the account is validated, proceed with backup, migration, or sync email tasks as needed.
