Visit to email account settings screen area in your application and input the following details:

  • Email Address: Your full Runbox email address (e.g., you@runbox.com)
  • Password: Your Runbox account password (no app password needed unless 2FA is enabled)
  • IMAP Server: imap.runbox.com
  • IMAP Port: 993
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS
  • SMTP Server: smtp.runbox.com

  • Encryption: SSL/TLS

3) Authenticate Your Account

Verify the credentials and click Login or Connect button in your app. Start authentication and establish a secure connection with IMAP and SMTP.

Once authenticated, your email account will be fully synced. You can send, receive, backup, and manage your Runbox emails with your chosen application.

Optional: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and Use App Passwords

Runbox allows you to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for extra security.

Important:

Once 2FA is enabled, your regular password will no longer work for non-webmail services like IMAP, SMTP. You will need to create and use an App Password for email clients and backup tools.

How to Enable 2FA and Set Up App Passwords:

  • Log in at https://runbox.com
  • Go to Account > Account Security
  • Click Generate Key to get a TOTP secret key or scan the QR code
  • Use an authentication app like Google Authenticator, or other to get 6-digit code
  • Enter the code shown in your app to verify and enable 2FA

How to Generate App Passwords:

  • In the same Account Security area, hit on the App Passwords tab and visit to its section
  • Create a new password (e.g., label it “Regzion Backup Tool”) and click on Submit
  • Use this app password instead of your main password in IMAP or SMTP configurations
