How to Set Up "ProtonMail" with Third-Party Apps via Bridge

To use ProtonMail with third-party applications like Outlook, Thunderbird, or Regzion tools, ProtonMail Bridge is required. It acts as a local email gateway that securely translates your encrypted mailbox into IMAP/SMTP access.

Stage 1: Download and Install ProtonMail Bridge

1 ) Visit proton.me/mail/bridge and download the correct version for your OS (Windows, macOS, Linux).

2 ) Install the application following the installer prompts.

3 ) Launch ProtonMail Bridge and log in using your ProtonMail credentials.

1 ) Open Regzion Software and visit to screen of Email Account Settings or Migration/Backup Configuration.

2 ) Open your ProtonMail Bridge app and select the account. Copy the following details:

  • IMAP Server: 127.0.0.1
  • IMAP Port: e.g., 1143 (check your Bridge app)
  • SMTP Server: 127.0.0.1
  • SMTP Port: e.g., 1025 (check your Bridge app)
  • Username: Shown in Bridge (usually your email)
  • Password: Copy the Bridge-generated password

3 ) In Regzion software, paste these credentials into the appropriate fields for IMAP and SMTP.

4 ) Test the connection. If the test passes, you are now ready to perfom migration and back up operations with ProtonMail account.
