How to Configure NetZero Email in Desktop & Third-Party Applications


Follow the guide below to set up your NetZero email account in supported applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mail, and other third-party email clients.

Note:- Since NetZero supports only POP3 for incoming mail, please use the recommended POP3 and SMTP settings to establish a secure connection and access your mailbox.

Configure NetZero Email account in Email Clients

Step 1: Launch Your Preferred Email Application

Begin by opening the email client or service where you wish to configure your NetZero account. This includes desktop applications such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, or other.


Step 2: Enter Your NetZero Account Credentials

  • Email Address: Input your full NetZero email address (e.g., yourname@netzero.com)
  • Username: Typically your NetZero Member ID (the portion before @netzero.com)
  • Password: Enter the password associated with your NetZero email account

Step 3: Configure POP3 and SMTP Server Settings

    Use the following server details when prompted by your email software:

  • Incoming Mail Server (POP3): pop.netzero.com
  • Incoming Port: 995 (SSL required)
  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.netzero.com
  • Outgoing Port: 465 (SSL required)
  • Encryption Type: Use SSL/TLS for both incoming and outgoing connections

Step 4: Complete Setup and Verify Connectivity

Click on "Finish", "Add Account", or a similar option in your application to finalize the configuration. The email program will validate the provided settings and start downloading your emails from the NetZero server.
