Set up "Mailfense" for Third-Party App Login


Follow these simple steps to configure your Mailfense account for third-party software like Regzion IMAP Backup & Migration Tool: -

Step 1: Enable IMAP in Mailfense Account

1 ) Open a web browser and sign in to your Mailfense account at mailfense.com.

2 ) Go to the top-right corner and click on Settings.

3 ) Navigate to Services from the sidebar menu.

4 ) Enable the option for IMAP/SMTP access by checking the box.

5 ) Click on Save to apply the changes.

Step 2: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

1 ) While logged into Mailfense, go to Settings > Account.

2 ) Click on Two-factor authentication.

3 ) Follow the instructions to set up authentication using an authenticator app or SMS.

4 ) After enabling, proceed to create an app-specific password.

Step 3: Create App-Specific Password

1 ) From the Account Settings page, click on App passwords (Service-Specific Password).

2 ) Click Generate new app password.

3 ) Enter a name such as Regzion IMAP Tool to label the access.

4 ) Click Generate and copy the password shown on screen.

5 ) This password will be used instead of your main password in third-party software.

Step 4: Use App Password in Regzion or Email clients

1 ) Launch Regzion IMAP Backup or Migration software.

2 ) Enter the following Mailfense email settings:

  • IMAP Server: imap.mailfense.com
  • IMAP Port: 993 (SSL)
  • SMTP Server: smtp.mailfense.com
  • SMTP Port: 465 (SSL)
  • Username: Your full Mailfense email address
  • Password: App-specific password (generated in Step 3)

3 ) Test the connection and proceed with your backup or migration.
